Hello scrappy friends! It’s Zinia to share with you another layout I created using the December 2016 hip kits.
I was really inspired by the beautiful paper from Paige Evan’s “Take me Away” collection that has a ton of little squares with different colors and patterns. It kinda reminded me all the little paper scraps I end up with at the end of each kit. So I really wanted to do something with that.
I decided to die-cut hearts in different sizes out of them. You can either use your punches, your Silhouette or a manual die-cutting machine, whatever you have in your crafty arsenal. You can even fussy cut them on your own.
To make my design more interesting I also cut some hearts out of glassine bags that are used to pack the little bits of the kits. To extend my color palette I decided to cut out a few hears out of some exclusive cards from the December Project Life kit as well as the glitter tape that came in the Embellishment kit.
For my base I decided to use another beautiful paper from the “Take me Away” collection that was included in the December Main Kit.
I used a few ephemera pieces and project life cards to layer behind my photo and then I started clustering the hearts around it. I spread them out randomly trying to avoid having hearts of the same color close together.
To fill the gaps I used some of the cut apart words that came in the December Project Life kit and a few bits of the gorgeous sequin mix that was included in the Main Kit.
I absolutely love how this page came together. It’s a design that you can easily recreate with any leftover scraps and little pieces from older kits or just make use of this beautiful multi-patterned paper.
I really hope you enjoyed this. Make sure to stop by the HKC Facebook page and the HKC Member Forum for even more inspiration.
Until next time, happy scrapping🙂
