Hey everyone! It’s Jessica Fabiano with you today, I hope you’re doing fine. November has brought us fabulous colors and fun things to play with. I knew I wanted to use the sequins up as much as I could – I love sequins. So I decided to make a shaker layout with the vellum that came in the cardstock kit. Unfortunately, the camera doesn’t pick it up too well, you know the deal with vellum. But I know it’s there and you can hear the sequins! So much fun! My theme for the day was to use a cut file. I went with the gorgeous 12 days of giving cut files you can find on the Hip Kit Club page – it’s the day 11 file.
As you can see, I decided to cut my file on white cardstock and added it on top of the vellum. The vellum is added on top of white cardstock as well. I left an open space so I could add the sequins before I closed it with regular glue.
I just love this cut file! Kimberly has been inspired by a file that beautiful Bea has recently released. It took the cameo quite a while to cut all the details but it’s definitely worth the wait. Look at the fun splatters! Those are DIY mists – yup! I love them and I make most of them myself using acrylics. If you use acrylics instead of ink, the consistency of the mist will be a lot more opaque and thick. Ink gives a more translucent finish. You decide!
I added more embellishments. I still had a bunch of sequins left, so I glued them down on random sections. I also added the pink thicker-stars that came with the exclusive thicker set. I sometimes forget that we can use regular thickers as chipboard embellishments, too!
The “Snowflake” embellishment is a crate paper chipboard piece that came with the wood embellishment pack. It actually says “Snowflakes”, but I chopped off the “s” to make it work. I colored the sparkly silver thickers with a black alcohol marker – that way I can customize all my thickers! And hey, sparkly thickers in any color! Doesn’t that sound good?
Close up for the eye! Can you see the tiny tiny washi strip there? It’s just the leftover print from the regular strip – still usable!
I hope you’ve had fun joining me today. See you next week on the FB page!
xoxo, Jessy
