Road trip photos are so much fun!! Group songs, selfies, sleeping kids…junk food & loads of other memorable moments! I have a project today that I hope will inspire you to haul out those road trip snapshots & scrap ’em!!
Road Trip by Kim Watson
Wanting to create the feeling of driving, I placed everything diagonally across the page. Using the photo strip as a shelf for my little car scene & main title. I love the diagonal strip gives me extra room to add photos.
The American Crafts wood alphas were calling to be jazzed up a little. I did so with red paint. Only painting them to the halfway mark, really gives them a funky vibe! Splattering a little cherry paint top & bottom the page, completes a visual triangle.
Arrows, text & stickers all help the diagonal movement, as well as contribute toward telling the story.
Don’t you love the little yellow rubber taxi & wood veneer arrow…they really ground the design on this side of the page & add a pop of color to the dark, photos. This entire kit makes me SO happy…I love the fun colors & playful patterns & motifs. What better way to document vacation photos?
There are a few of the August kits still available in the store…I urge you to grab one if you haven’t already!
Thanks for stopping by…have a super, crafty week <3
