July Guest Designer: The talented Janna Werner.

Hello everyone, Janna here. I am back with my 4th and last post as Hip Kit Club guest designer – time flies when you are having fun!

In this last post I am sharing a layout and 2 gift boxes both featuring flowers and leaves. I have become quite obsessed with flowers while working with the June kit  🙂 Instead of cutting the out by hand, like I did with this layout, I used my beloved Big Shot and dies. But first things first…

A True Story by Janna Werner

Lately there are so many great scrapbooking pages online that feature stitched circles. Sadly, my sewing machine broke a while ago and I weren’t able to fix it. I was lucky as my grandmother had one that she didn’t need anymore. Yay! When I started sewing on my projects with my new old Singer machine, I recognized how much I missed it.

The inspiration for this layout came from the many great layouts I saw online, like the one from Anna Komenda, as well as from great paper flower projects I found on Instagram and Pinterest (make sure to check out that Pinterest board, it is worth it!).

I started by drawing a circle in the middle of white cardstock, then I stitched 3 circles. Afterwards I used the Big Shot (did I tell you how much I love it?!) to cut flowers and leaves from the Hip Kit Club June Kit papers, then I added a few more embellishments. As you can see, there is quite a lot of text on my layout – I decided to add it to the left bottom corner, but I think it would also look nice and maybe even cleaner, if the text was going from the left side of the layout to the right, highlighting the entire bottom part.

The photo… actually this is me 24 years ago (oh my, now that I have written this, I feel old!) at the age of 13. My family, a friend of mine and I went to U.S. and visited quite a few parks. There was one where you could wear these gorgeous dresses and they would take a picture of you. What you can’t see here is that the entire backside of the dress was open, only held by a few clips 😀 Like this, people could slip into the dress very quickly.

Flowery Gift Boxes by Janna Werner

Now let’s have a look at the gift boxes – again – those were created with dies plus Big Shot. I like both boxes a lot, but the blue makes me even happier. The green and pink color on the navy background – awesome! I don’t think I have to tell you that I used tons of dimensional dots on all my layouts, right? 🙂

Dear crafty friends, thank you so much for coming here and reading my last guest design post for Hip Kit Club – it has been a blast creating with this fantastic kit. I’d be happy, if you’d check out all my other projects too.

Thanks to Hip Kit Club for having me and the super Design Team for all their inspiration.
