Hi Everyone! Andrea here, and I’m going to share with you a fun layout I did where the focus is really on the title…but without distracting too much from or taking away from the picture. I don’t know about you, but when I scrap a layout, I like to really emphasize and draw focus first and foremost to the picture or pictures in that layout. However, sometimes it is fun to draw focus to another element on your page first and foremost, like the journaling, ephemera, or the title. For this layout, I used the July Hip Kit Club kits to make a 12×12 layout that really draws attention to the title of the page first, and then brings your eye around to the picture that the title is all about.
For my layout, I wanted to document a funny moment with my hubby. We were sticking out our tongues and laughing and so the title of my layout just had to be “laugh”! We love to laugh! I used one piece of white cardstock from the add on Paper kit for the background of my layout and one to cut out a really, really big “laugh” for my title. I used some paints to paint my “laugh” with an ombre effect and then glittered around the word. I wanted the title to be painted and glittered not just because I wanted it to stand out a lot, but also so that it would match some of the main elements on my layout. I wanted it to match all the hearts that I punched from the exclusive Hip Kit paper, Painted Dreams (the one that looks watercolored with black stripes), and also to match the glittered frame from Paige Evans Fancy Free by Pink Paislee which I used to frame my picture on the layout.
The repeating hearts on the layout serve to point out the sweet and silly love that my hubby and I have, not just with their shape but also because I wrote words like “happy” and “dorky” and “xoxo” on some of them in order to emphasize this fact and to also to re-emphasize the large “laugh” title.
To add some extra texture and interest to my layout, I used the several of the lovely embellishments that come in the July Hip kits, like the exclusive puffy stickers, the exclusive ephemera pack, the exclusive flair…all of which is so super cute!
I also used some other non-exclusive, but oh so adorable embellies from the kit, like the Becky Higgins Project Life chipboard, the Freckled Fawn gold hearts and plus signs, the Amy Tangerine rubber shapes, and a single American Crafts gold bow paperclip…all of which served to lead the eye around the page, especially to the title of the page and then to the picture. This is particularly true with the arrow embellishments that I used on this layout which literally point you to what I want you to look at!
I hope you like my layout and that you are inspired to create a title-focused layout using the pretty papers and goodies from the July Hip Kit Club kits! Please enjoy this process video of me making my “Laugh” layout!
Thank you for stopping by and I wish you a very happy, scrappy, fairytale of day filled with lots and lots of laughs!!!
