Hey y’all!
I’m back! With a super unusual layout for me using the June 2016 Kits—I really stepped out of my comfort zone for this one and I actually like the way that it turned off. Believe me, it took time for this page to grow on me, and I even thought about redoing it completely but I decided to keep it because after all, it’s a good thing to step out of our comfort zone and accept imperfections! My biggest challenge: NOT USING PINK! This challenge was set by myself so that I could try and make this page as masculine as possible. I think I achieved the masculine part, but the outcome wasn’t exactly my favorite!
I started with a white background and one of the Dear Lizzy die cut phrases that came in our Main Kit. I simply set the die cut onto my page and then sprayed right on top of it using the Color Kit’s Shimmerz spray called Mandarin Mai Tai.
I then began my layering process, using some of our exclusive patterns as well as some of the Jen Hadfield Pebbles papers. I embellished using several elements from the Main Kit, as well as the Embellishment Add-On Kit.
I then added some of the puffy stickers that are an HKC Exclusive from our Embellishment Add-On Kit and then hand-doodled with a pen around the edges.
I hope you like this one!
For my second project, I created a project life spread that focuses on several pictures taken of my sweet baby girl when she was about 7 months. (insert bawling face emoji here). Anyway, I took several photos of her before church one morning and loved how each and every one of those turned out. Why not use all of them? So, I did. It was the perfect addition for my PL Album.
I used a few of the HKC Exclusive cards from the Project Life kit and then used the Paper Kit for extra 3×4 cards.
I embellished with the Jillibean Soup wood veneer, puffy stickers, lots of Simple Stories stickers, and a few pieces of ephemera from Becky Higgins’ Currently collection and HKC “Everyday.”
I had tons of fun making this one and loved this process from the beginning. 🙂
Make sure to check out my process video for these two projects!
XOXO
