June Guest Designer: The talented Janna Werner

Please join us in welcoming the very talented Janna Werner who is our June Guest Designer:

Janna-Werner

Hi, my name is Janna Werner, I am a 37 year old mixed media crafter, author, designer and online class instructor. I live in Oldenburg, Germany – together with my husband of 6 years and our 2 dogs Luzie and Monti. It’s a big honor to be guest designer for Hip Kits Club and I can’t wait to share my projects with you – hopefully they will inspire you to get crafty 🙂

When I opened the June Hip Kits, I was blown away by all the gorgeous colors and patterns. While flipping through the paper kit, I saw this beautiful flower paper! I put everything aside and started cutting out the flowers right away, not knowing what I´ll need them for.. I just had to cut them out!

The layout came together quite easily, actually it was nearly finished before I even knew which photos I wanted to add. This is the first time ever, I created a layout without having certain photos on my mind. It was a weird but very interesting process though.

I decided to add photos from me and one of our dogs, Monti. He came to us in 2014, one and a half years old, from a foreign rescue center. He was super shy and afraid of everything. It took him half a year to trust us completely and nearly one year to become a happy and relaxed dog. Monti is the best dog ever, loyal, loving, caring and joyful. Therefore the title bloom fits perfectly!

I chose black/white photos to create a calm center point.

I am a hardcore alpha fan 🙂 I love creating text cluster, using alphas and stickers. It is part of my journaling. I added the date on the backside of the layout, sometimes it just doesn’t fit on the front.

For the card I selected a pretty palette of yellows & orange using some of those cut out flowers. They look so great on the black & white pin dot paper.

A vellum pennant & sentiment was all I needed to finish off the card. I hope you enjoy these colorful and happy projects and feel inspired to get crafty.
