Have you tried mixing paper strips & watercolors?

Digging into my March Hip kits has been so much fun for me. It is a RIOT of color, patterns & textures, INSPIRING the direction I took with this page.

Step one:

Grab a watercolor brush, Shimmerz Paints as found in the March color kit add-on, and any other color you would like to add. With BOLD brush strokes, wash color diagonally across your page. I chose yellow, AQUA & pink to compliment the Pinkfresh Studio papers.

Step two:

Fussy cut some of the patterned stripes from the Pinkfresh paper found in the March main kit & March paper add-on kit . I chose TONAL shades but you can use any combination you desire. Laying them in different positions from each other on their complimenting paint stripe really works the diagonal design. Machine stitching a VARIETY of stitches, adds super texture & interest. This combination of techniques is a great way to freshen up any page design.

Step three:

Using a 4×6″ PL card from the March PL kit add-on, vellum, ephemera from Pinkfresh Studio, I layered the 4 small PHOTOS; creating a fun collage which I placed in a central position. A tab & sweet little bird sticker was all that was needed for PERFECT balance.

Step four:

Start layering die-cut ephemera as found in the March Main kit & March Embellishment add-on kit & grow your own flower border strip. Mix substrates and get CREATIVE!! Foam adhesive lift shapes off the page, adding DIMENSION, puffy stickers & enamel dots add a little ‘sparkle’ to the center of the flowers. Notice how the fun the word ‘MAKE’ became the first word in the conversational title?

Step five:

Use a few of the super funky journal strip STICKER strips from Pinkfresh Studio, found in the March PL kit add-on, as your journaling. I love how the WATERCOLOR finish works so well with the painted background!
