February Kit and Grids | Nancy Damiano

One of my favorite design layouts is the simple grid. Using pops of color and clean lines is a great way to frame out a photo and tell a story. It’s also a pretty quick process that’s pretty easy to achieve.

I always start with the heart of the page – the photo. Then I chose color that compliment the feel and set aside a handful of favorite embellishments. In this case, I really wanted to use the rest of the fringe hearts that I had from the February Kit. They are too beautiful to set aside!

Once I have the basic rectangles down, I start to embellish. First with the hearts, and then with the mirror words by Pink Paislee. Layering the word ‘happy’ and the star on the rectangle adds movement and texture to the flat background.

A base layer of rectangles, and a layer of contrasting shapes (hearts) plus a sprinkle of texture (mirror words) – that’s the simple formula for your next grid design!NancyDamianoblog
