Hey everyone, Raquel here today to share a layout I created using the February Hip Kits with you. I decided to scrapbook another wedding photo and I am so pleased that I am slowing making my way through the never-ending pile of wedding photos I want to document.
For this layout I wanted to make a feature of the heart cut file from Nicole’s exclusive set. To do this I created my own background file by cutting and pasting the heart in many different sizes and then welding them together. I also kept some of the heart files individual too.
I backed the cut file hearts in the remaining piece of the patterned paper by Pink Paislee that was used in a strip on the right side of the page. I also used the gorgeous pink chevron paper from that same C’est La Vie collection to back the cut file.
Some of the hearts were backed in vellum too, I just love that translucent look it gave to the cut files, a bit like a frosted window.
For the title I used a combination of the Maggie Holmes Bloom clear stickers and the Amy Tangerine word thickers. I added the title directly to my photo as there was so much negative space. The heart was also from the clear sticker pack.
I added an embellishment cluster to the top right of the page. It contained a combination of a cut file heart, a couple of punched hearts using a gold card stock from my stash, a MH clear sticker and a couple of the gorgeous bright pink Simple Stories enamel dots. Love the pop of pink they bring, and they really accentuate the pink from the Pink Paislee patterned paper.
To the right of the photo I added one of the gold foil Amy Tangerine frames. I used it more as an embellishment and layer than its intended purpose of a frame, but I am really happy with how it turned out.
Below the main title I have a grouping of embellishments. It contains a Pink Paislee tag, a Heidi Swapp post it, an Amy Tangerine sticker, the gorgeous fringe heart and it topped with the Mirror Pink Paislee word and a Shimelle chipboard piece. How beautiful is that mirrored word? It looks like it was made for that heart.
Incase you had any more questions about how this layout came together I have created a process video for you all
I hope this layout has inspired you to get creating with your kits!
