Hey kit fans, I’m here today sharing a layout created using the January 2016 kit and add-on. I tried to keep the color here nice and streamlined picking out all of the black, pink and white pieces.
To give the plain wood veneer title a little pop, I added to coats of black acrylic paint. Layering just below the photo and on the pink patterned paper let it stand out and highlight the shot at the same time.
I centered all of the chipboard pieces along the center line framing out a strip of fringed white card stock. This adds two nice vertical lines to the design with a pop of texture and color.
I placed some of the aqua acrylic circles in between the chipboard as if they were “raining down” the layout. This adds a tiny bit of color and whole lot of movement. The story is journaled on the right with a few splatters of black India ink and the date stamped in a bold hot pink.
Creating with a bold but simple color palette is anything but boring! Some punches of black, fringe and fun acrylic shapes make the January Hip Kit a versatile favorite.
