December Project Life

Good morning! Brenda Smith here and while I finish up the last few days of my December Documented album, I have a project life spread to share with you using the December 2015 Project Life kit and Embellishment add-on.

This is a spread that captures a lot of our memories from mid-December. We were so busy with family in town and Christmas celebrations and birthdays hence why this spread is photo-heavy.

I printed out my photos with a thick white border and wanted to have a theme of washi and wonky stitching throughout the spread. I added some dimensional embellishments like stars and chipboard words and a cute little butterfly.

I muted the colors of some of my photos to make them fit in better with the colors of the cards. I used my trusty old-fashioned typewriter for the journaling on the cards.

There’s a lot going on on this side but I tried to continue visual themes throughout the page like the flowers, the washi, stitching, etc. I’ve been having a hard time including my Christmas-specific photos in with a normal spread like this so I haven’t yet decided how I’ll document those photos.

I love all the bits and pieces in the ephemera pack from Maggie Holmes (found in the Embellishment kit). I like the sweet, feminine feel without it being overly girly.

I played around a little with texture by crumpling some of the washi and stitching successive lines in close proximity. This color combination is one of my absolute favorites with coral, pink, aqua, and black. I feel like the palette is neutral enough to go with almost everything!
