Merry Christmas Eve, friends! Missy here. Today I’m sharing a fun and bright layout using the 2015 December Hip Kits and one of the free cut files. I enlarged the heart from Nicole’s set and backed with it with various patterned papers, 6×6 papers from the Shine collection and some of the 3×4 Journal Cards. I used the beautiful Tickle Me Turquoise Shimmerz from the Color Kit on the background and to color the Heidi Swapp tag behind my photos. I did add some white gesso to the background before adding the paint. I also took some time to do some hand stitching. I stitched around the edge of the heart and after I adhered it, I stitched again around it on the background.
I love the look of hand stitching. It adds so much texture and gives the page that “hand made” look. The Shimmerz works so nicely on the Heidi Swapp mistable tags. I added in a few die cuts here and some tangled thread.
I added in some black elements, like this black and white striped paper and some black machine stitching. Backing this heart die cut with papers was really easy to do…it’s just a matter of picking and choosing which papers you want.
I used the Magenta Shimmez on this Heidi Swapp “laugh” die cut…it’s so shimmery! I paired it with the gold glitter “love” Thicker.
Here’s one more close up of the lower cluster. I used the cute yellow ampersand flair button with the pink flower die cut, a chipboard piece and a gold heart glitter Thicker.
