Hey everyone, Raquel Bowman here today to share with you my latest layout using the October 2015 kits. I used a combination of the Scrapbook kit, Project Life kit, Color kit and Embellishment kit.
The photos are of my little man. He was getting more and more confident crawling and moving around and I just love the cheeky smile I was able to capture.
My first step when I was creating this layout was to gather all the teal/woodgrain elements from the kits, there was so much to play with once I begun gathering all the bits and pieces. I couldn’t forget the teal coloured pencils in the water-colour pack, I am just loving them.
I used the exclusive mask from the colour kit with some Whipped Spackle. I wanted to apply them randomly, so only applied the medium through some of the crosses. The circle deer is cut from one of the Jen Hadfield papers, and the other embellishments are a mixture of pieces from the Pink Paislee ephemera pack.
I adore layering and boy there is just so much to layer in these packs! I added some vellum behind the Pink Paislee wood grain frames so they didn’t blend into the background too much. This enabled me to layer embellishments on top of them and behind them more effectively. Those leaf clips are so cute and I do not limit using them to only fall photos.
I found a cute little banner in the Pink Paislee ephemera pack, the Heidi Swapp teal glitter stickers from the Project Life kit fit perfectly within the banner and I was able to spell out the nickname we call our son within it. I added a little dimension by using foam dots and folding the ends a little too.
The feather cut file added a nice little embellishment in the cluster I created to the right of the photos. I added a variety of pieces from all kits.
Here is another look into the random crosses using the exclusive stencil and a bit of the watercolours, created simply by colouring and wetting with a waterebrush. So easy and so effective!
Another view of the layout just to see the dimension achieved. So so fun!
I am loving all the November kit images and sneaks of layouts I am seeing. I cannot wait to have a play with them!
