She’s a Beauty | Missy Whidden

Happy Tuesday, friends!  Missy back with you again.  I’m SO excited to bring you my first layout using the 2015 October Hip Kits!  They couldn’t be any more gorgeous.  I wound up not using any patterned paper on this layout, and that just shows you how many amazing pieces are included in the kits.  I started with white cardstock and the exclusive plus sign stencil from the Color Kit.  I coated the cardstock with clear gesso first.  Then I used some Glass Bead Gel from my stash and created some texture on my background.  Next, I used a few of the Prima Watercolor Pencils to add color.  They work so well with a water pen!

I used three Project Life cards as my layers and several pieces from the Pink Paislee Cedar Lane Ephemera pack, which is in the Main Kit.  I used last month’s Abandoned Coral Distress Marker to give that flower die cut some red color.  I also colored a few of the Simple Stories Wood Veneer flowers.  The Pink Paislee Memorandum clear stickers are perfect to use on a white background.

To make the plus signs stand out a bit more, I traced over some of them with a gold pen.  I also added gold stitching and a fun circle die cut that I created in my Silhouette software.  I also added in some of the Jen Hadfield washi tape from the Embellishment Kit.

I decided to add my title at the bottom of the design, and I combined the Heidi Swapp glitter alphas with tall and skinny gold Thickers.

Here’s one more close-up of the background texture and the right side of the layout.  I layered a lot here…more of the Pink Paislee die cuts.  I punched out the “Be Happy” from one of the Jen Hadfield papers.
