She’s a Wild One | Missy Whidden

Hello, everyone!  It’s Missy again, and I have another fun and bright layout to share today using the 2015 September Hip Kits!  I started this layout with that cute little zebra from the Main Kit and worked my entire page around him.  I chose this photo of my Wild Child being tossed into the air, and her hair is completely standing straight up and looking very “wild,” so I went with the wild animal theme here…haha!  I decided to create a grid design, and one of the rectangles is filled with the Amy Tan washi tape.  I used a bit of white gesso over parts of the background so I could fade a few parts out and then come in with some yellow spray ink from the March Color Kit.  I also used the Cracked Pistachio Distress Marker to add a touch of green to the background.  I also used up a ton of the embellishments from the kits.

I used the Lemon Twist Paint Dabber from the May Color Kit to paint this “play” wood veneer.  I’ve been wanting to the use these acetate pieces, and this was the perfect place to put them.

Here you can see where I did some of the yellow inking on the background.  I also machine stitched around the rectangles in different colors.  I fussy cut that “happy” banner piece from one of the Project Life cards.  I backed that cute acetate camera with white paper and then stapled it down and added pop dots to raise it up.

Those balloons are so bright and fun, and I just had to use them on this layout.  I did bring in a few stamps and some of the pink word strips from the April Kits because they just went with this design and color scheme so well.  I also added pop dots to the zebra and added some tangled thread and a rub-on under him.  I also added in a few enamel hearts, a puffy arrow sticker and a stamp.

Here’s a look at all the washi tape from the Embellishment Kit.  Since I used the zebra, it was only fair that I used the puffy giraffe, too, right?  I added gold stitching around the washi tape rectangle and then layered in a die cut, a puffy sticker and a stamp.

One last close-up here of the title area.  I used those awesome tall slender Thickers and combined them with the Elle’s Studio grey alphas.  I love mixing and matching fonts and colors for titles.

Here’s the process video to this layout if you’d like to see how it all came together.  I hope you enjoy!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, and have an awesome day!
