Two Layouts | Missy Whidden

Hey, Hip Kit friends!  Missy here.  I have two layouts to share with you today!  First up is my first layout using the gorgeous 2015 September Hip Kits!  I tore into my box as soon as I received it, and just gasped at all the lovely scrappy goodness!  I began with some white cardstock and some of the American Crafts Rub-Ons from the Main Kit.  I applied them in certain areas around where the photos were going to go.  Next, I used some of the awesome Elle’s Studio stamps to create the words “LOVE” and “SMILE.”  I used the Distress Markers to give them a bit of color (both the stamps and markers are in the Color Kit).  I used one of the stencils from the May Color Kit along with some of the Ranger Yellow Paint Dabber to create some yellow stripes on the background.  I also added in some pink gelatos for a little watercolor effect.

Cute Little Face  There are so many fun embellishments in the kits this month!  I used several of the Amy Tan die cut pieces on the layout, as well as some of the Crate Paper Wonder chipboard from the Embellishment Kit.  Those adorable gold arrow paper clips are also included.

Here’s the right side of the page…isn’t that camera puffy sticker SO cute?!  I love it so much!  I have a small piece of the Amy Tan washi tape there under the photo.

I just had to use this “cute” chipboard piece…it was the perfect shade of yellow.  I mixed it with the October Afternoon alphas and the Thickers.

One last close-up of the paint and stamping…I love how it turned out.  I really love how this collection has royal blue mixed in with all those bright colors!

I also created another layout using the 2015 August Hip Kits.  I couldn’t stop using the Dylusions Paints from the Color Kit, and I used my square acrylic stamping block as a stamp.  I made this background in minutes and then went to town using lots of the Dear Lizzy Fine & Dandy chipboard stickers.  I also used a lot of the washi tape roll.

I love the reds mixed in with the pinks, yellows and teal colors.  This cute Pinkfresh Studio Rubber Tag coordinated perfectly with this layout.

I just had to tear up some of the washi tape here under the YUMMY stickers.  I love how they look against the painted background.

I just had to use the EAT CAKE pieces since this photo is of my daughter on her 3rd birthday 🙂  I love the pops of teal from the washi tape and the texture created from the little bow tie stencil and modeling paste.

Here you can see the background closely.  I created a bit of texture with the exclusive stencil and some paste and then added some machine stitching using pink and yellow thread.  The title is from the Pinkfresh Studio alpha sticker sheets.

Finally, here’s a look at the upper right side of the page.  More paint, washi tape, thread, chipboard and ink splatters.

Here’s the process video for this layout…I hope it inspires you to use the Dylusions paints in a fun, innovative way!
