Dream | Missy Whidden

Hello, friends!  Missy back with you today.  My layout for this week is a soft and dreamy one.  Last week I went loud and bright, but this week, the softer elements in the 2015 August Hip Kits were calling my name.  I started with this gorgeous gradient teal paper from Pinkfresh Studio and that beautiful American Crafts gold dotted vellum (from the Paper Kit).  I used one of Ashley Horton’s cloud cut files from The Cut Shoppe to use as a background element.  I used a lot of the Crate Paper Wonder die cuts and some of the exclusive Project Life cards as well.  I did a bit of mixed media work in the background.  It’s really subtle and not overpowering at all.  I also used the cute cloud stencil and some of the Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink from the May Color Kit.

I wanted lots of layers on this page, so I picked out the embellishments that went with the “Dream” theme and layered them up.  Since my photo is of my daughter sleeping, these were perfect.  I also added in some tangled thread and this cute Crate Paper felt heart.  I fussy cut that cute bird out of one of the Crate papers.

I couldn’t wait to use those gold foam Thickers!  They are so shiny and pretty.  They looked great mixed in with that dotted vellum and the cute gold glitter chipboard hearts from Freckled Fawn.  I also fussy cut that cute little bunny from one of the Crate papers.

These adorable script alphas from Pinkfresh Studio were a perfect match for this page.  I created the word “dream” in three different colors around the page.  I also added in one of the Pinkfresh wood veneer scalloped pieces.  I added some gold machine stitching through the vellum clouds for a bit more detail.

Here’s one final close up of this beautiful shiny gold “dream” Thicker…it’s probably my favorite part of this layout 🙂  I wish I had ten more packs of these!  They’re included in the Main Kit.

You can check out my process video if you’d like to see this layout being created…I hope it inspires you in some way!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Have a great day!
