Hey there, and Happy Tuesday!  It’s Missy back again today with another layout using the 2015 May Hip Kits.  For this page, I knew I wanted to use that beautiful bright blue and white star paper from Chickaniddy Crafts in the Main Kit.  I started with that and the light grey background paper.  I wanted to try something different with my background layers, so I cut a big triangle.  I have been doing diagonal designs lately, even though I don’t originally plan them that way.  They just sort of gravitate in that direction as I get going.  I did add some white gesso before adding some of the Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink and Lemon Twist Yellow Paint Dabber from the Color Kit to the background.  I also added in some of my own orange.

I combined several pieces to create my title.  They are a mix of the dark blue Chickaniddy alphas, the rainbow Thickers, the Evalicious wood grain alphas, the Pink Paislee chipboard stickers and the Chickaniddy Enamel Shapes.  I added in the Pink Paislee aqua ampersand as part of the title, too.

Here’s a look at the photo layers.  I used the Electric Lime Paint Dabber to color the Evalicious wood veneer and added some machine stitching around my photo layers.  I just had to cut some of those cute lemons out of the Pink Paislee patterned paper.

The American Crafts stencils in the Color Kit are awesome for adding little touches.  I created some subtle triangles and arrows around the page with Distress Inks.

One more close-up of the top part of the title and some of the layers.  I love how all of these colors coordinate so nicely together.

Here’s a process video of how I put this layout together if you’re interested 🙂  Thanks for taking a look!

I hope this inspires you in some way…thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!
