Always Cute by Guest Designer, Jess Mutty

Hi Hip Kitters! It’s Jess here today with my third April guest project.  The April kit’s colors are really working for me now that the weather has warmed up and I can see the signs of spring poking through.  This page started with inspiration from the Rise and Shine diamond stripe paper and the large Webster’s Pages photorealistic camera.  I actually cut the camera out and knew I wanted to use it before I found the totally appropriate photo strip to go with it!
Always Cute_Jess Mutty_April 2015The Dream in Color green wood print is so gorgeous and I knew it would be a great pop of color as a base for my photo area.  I layered several coordinating patterns under and around the camera and photo strip.  The wood veneer arrow was pretty perfect for my goofy photos, too.

I used foam tape to adhere the camera (and the gold “hi” chipboard on the lens) to give some layering height to my design and tucked one of the fun Rise and Shine wood tags under the corner.  The little sentiments below the camera have also been raised.  I cut the feathers from various papers and ephemera and just love the way they look “hanging” from the bottom of my photo strip.
Always Cute detail2_Jess Mutty_April 2015On the opposite side of my page I stacked another vertical column of my title, ephemera, and sentiments.  I can’t get enough of these beautiful gold Thickers! I stitched down the sentiments but left a few ends curled up for interest.
Always Cute detail3_Jess Mutty_April 2015Thanks for taking a look today and please join me one more time on the blog next week for my last April project!

  2. Love this, Jess 🙂 That camera cut out is awesome – and putting the hi on it was perfect. I love the feathers, too! Cute photo strip… and fun, colorful and happy layout.
