Hey there, Hip Kit fans! Missy here. Today I’m sharing my second layout using the 2015 April Hip Kits. I can’t get enough of these gorgeous bright colors! I started off with some of the kraft cardstock in the Cardstock Kit as my background. I added some white gesso and then added in some pink and blue watercolors and gelatos. The pops of yellow are from the Lemon Zest Dylusions Spray Ink from last month’s Color Kit. I cut some of the beautiful squares from the sheet of patterned paper included in the Color Kit and used them to create a horizontal design.
It was difficult to not use every single embellishment on this layout! I chose a few of these cute Freckled Fawn wood veneer word arrows, some of the gold Heidi Swapp chipboard stickers and a few of the colorful epoxy stickers from Amy Tan. They all layer beautifully.
This camera die cut is white, so I added some blue gelatos to it and topped it with a few epoxy stickers. That round wood veneer tag is from American Crafts and it matches perfectly! Those cute sentiment stickers are also from Amy Tan, and there are TON of them in the kit!
Here you an start to see some of the mixed media work on the background and on top of the patterned papers. I added in some machine stitching on that chipboard frame and the background. I also threw in some tangled thread in various matching colors.
Finally, here’s a close up of the gorgeous shiny gold Thicker words! My favorite! I don’t see myself ever getting sick of the gold trend 🙂
