I have butterflies in my stomach, as it’s time for my first post here in Hip Kit Club blog as a designer. I’m so excited! To make this post even more special, I have two layouts to show you. Other one has a process video, too.
Both of the layouts are made with March Main Kit and March Color Kit.
The first layout is made with a huge amount of mixed media. I grabbed Dylusion’s Lemon Zest Spray Ink and flicked some drops onto my white cardstock. Then, to make to color spread, I flicked some water, too. If you are interested about this technique, watch the video below. The same trick is used there too, just with acrylic paint.
I like to pick up from one to three matching colors to each layout, here the colors are gold and yellow tones, and strong pink. But to add some contrast, I used black ink to make those circles onto the background. Stencils are great way to add ink instead of stamping.
My other layout featured the March Color Kit, too. I just loved the Distress Pain Dabber in Cracked Pistachio color and I can’t get enough of the stencils we had in the kit.
Drawing some random circles behind your picture is an easy way to get more attention to it. The circles also brings together everything, so that even all my mixed media effects doesn’t look that chaotic. Super easy, but makes a big difference.
Not only I used the Crackled Pistachio paint to the background, but I also colored the Freckled Fawn Cork Hearts with it. I added some simple techniques into this process video, but if have any questions about anything, please feel free to ask.
Thank you so much for stopping by today!
I love your unique, artistic style – beautiful layouts! Looking forward to watching your process!
