I am a scrapbooker, baker, crafter, and lover of creativity living in Framingham, MA.  My husband Ryan is a math and computer geek who supports my need to get the “creative demons” out, preferably in the form of cooking for him… but he puts up with the paper and sewing crafts all over the house too!  We have a son, Owen, born December 2009 and a daughter, Lily, born July 2012.  They’re overflowing with personality and love to craft with me and inspire my pages! I’ve been scrapping since 2006. I love texture, layers, and STUFF on my pages!  I am always striving for variety and am equally happy creating pages, cards, or off the page items. I am inspired by the amazing wealth of papercrafting products, my kids, and everyday life.  I’ve been published in numerous papercrafting publications, taught classes locally and online, been lucky enough to design for several manufacturers and currently coordinate the design team for Fancy Pants Designs.  I discovered the Hip Kit Club last year and instantly fell in love with the kits and the community.  I am thrilled to be here this month!

I am so excited to be here today and bring you my first project with the April Hip Kit. I knew just from seeing the sneak peeks that I was going to be smitten with this kit.  The spring colors and fresh patterns were the breath of fresh air I needed up here in New England (yes, we still have snow on the ground!) and I couldn’t wait to get started creating something bright and fun. A few sweet Easter photos of my little girl were perfect for the pink, yellow, and orange patterns this month.

I used a repetetive theme of circles and hearts, which you can find in both the paper patterns and the embellishments. I am a big fan of the Amy Tangerine Rise & Shine Wood Veneer Tags and altered one with paint, mist, and sanding.

Aren’t these Rise & Shine Grace Phrase Thickers completely gorgeous?  They made for a simple but striking title.

The variety of embellishments in the April kit gave me so many options.  The little touches on a layout are always what I love to come back to examine.
