Hello Sweet Pickles | Missy Whidden

Happy Tuesday!  Missy here again.  I’m having so much fun with the 2015 March Kits!  I was inspired by Nicole’s pie charts on this layout.  I used my Cameo and a sheet of the kraft cardstock from the Cardstock Kit to cut my background.  I just created various sized circles and scattered them around.  I backed each cut out with different patterned papers.  Some of the circles are “made from scratch,” meaning I used the Lemon Zest Dylusions to create a bright yellow on white cardstock.  I also used the small circle stencil in the Color Kit along with Dylusions Spray Ink and modeling paste to create some awesome texture.

Here’s a close up of the circles.  You can really see the texture from the stencil.  I used some gelatos as well to give it even more of a splotchy look. I also added some gold stitching and some of the cute sequins.

I used lots of goodies for clustering around my photo.  I used one of the chipboard frames, one of the Project Life cards that I trimmed down, a sticker from the Webster’s Pages Sticker Sheet, some of the MME shiny gold stickers, a few of the Crate Paper puffy stickers, some Freckled Fawn cork hearts and one of the wooden strips from Pinkfresh Studio.  All of these gorgeous products are in the March Kits!

I colored this adorable wood veneer with the pink Dylusions from last month’s kit and a little bit of pink gelato and then backed it with white cardstock so it would pop.  I also colored the frame with some of the Cracked Pistachio Distress Paint.

I’m completely loving these Thickers…the color is just beautiful.  They stick really well.  I paired them with some the tiny navy alpha stickers and a Hello sticker from Webster’s pages.

And here’s one more look at the mixed media work.  I show how I did this in detail in my process video.

I hope this inspires you to create something fun, bright and colorful with your kits!  If you’d like all the details on how I created this, you can watch my process video here!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!
