Today is Full of Promise | Patricia Roebuck

Hello!  So happy and excited to be joining you today for my first blog post and first assignment with Hip Kit Club.

I dug right into the beautiful February kits.  The first thing that I did was use the Color kit mask, pink paint and bubblegum mist.  I traced part of a flower onto the background pattern paper.  Then used a water pen and the bubblegum mist to fill in the flower, using some of the pink paint to soften the color.  I used another mist color from my stash for the leaves and did the same thing.

I used my scissors to freehand cut pieces of pattern paper to start layering, and tucking in ephemera from the kit.

I added my journaling to the top of the layout, added more pieces of pattern paper, and ephemera at the bottom, and added frames around them both using machine stitching.

The “Today is Full of Promise” inspired the layout design.  With it being so bold, the layout is designed in ‘blocks.’    To finish off the layout, I added some heart rubons from the main kit, and mist splatters from the Color Kit.  Thanks so much for joining me today, and so excited to be with you here at Hip Kit!
