Hey! Irit here with two new layouts using the October kits. These pages just came together, this doesn’t always happens, and it was really fun.
For my first layout, I didn’t really know what I was gonna do. I knew I wanted to use three 3*4 photos, kinda random photos from my daughter’s birthday. This is a great design to use with leftovers and layer some behind your photos. I wasn’t sure about the background paper, and ended up with a combination of those two high contrast papers. I love the graphic look they add. A few golden touches (I’m slowly but surely getting through that Open Book ephemera package! Woo-Hoo!), and no way I can not use the golden word Thickers, they are the title and the embellishment. You can see all the details in the process video.
The second layout was super fast. My go to patterns and colors are bright and light, and I sometimes struggle using darker colors. But then, I have some stories that don’t really feel right paired with flowers and glitter… And that’s how I felt about this photo, of my classroom on the first day back in university after years. I wanted to document it, but not with a doily, KWIM? So I used that lovely dark woodgrain as my background and all the darker die cuts from the ephemera pack. I was very inspired by Ashley Fowler’s project for the Hip Kit Club online blog last month that focused on die cuts. You can see how fast this page came together in the video.
I hope you like these projects and see you next Monday!
