Hey Hipster’s, Mandy Koeppen here with 2 new projects to share with you today. The first project to share is this 12×12 layout created with the awesome Shimelle pattern paper from our brand new August Hip Kit. I love all the Shimelle goodies in this kit. The colors & images are so inspiring and had my creative juices flowing as soon as I opened my package.
This particular paper I wanted to use really badly but it had the big initials running down on the left hand side of it. So, what was I going to do with it? TIP: cover that portion up with a 4″x10″ coordinating paper from the kit of course!
After I figured that part out, the only other thing that I stumbled with was figuring out where to place my title. I knew I wanted the title in the upper left side but it wasn’t working quite right. So, I decided to use a mix of the Thicker letters and the Shimelle mini alpha stickers found in our Main Kit. Ta-Da!!! It totally worked for me.
A few tickers layered with some paper strips and the layout was done. I always say it but I’m going to say it again…I love a simple and quick layout!
Want to create layouts like this? Our monthly kits include coordinated papers, embellishments, and supplies to bring your scrapbook pages to life.
Simple and quick can be said about my second project… this card that I created with some scraps from my layout along with a a item mix of goodies from our August Kit & Main Embellishment Add-On Kit. I love these Shimelle Cork Stickers! The camera was so cute I had to use it! The Freckled Fawn “FUN” wood veneer word was a great option to finish off my sentiment.
So for this week here are a few tips:
-
Simple & Quick is good.
-
Cover it up if you can’t use it or don’t like it.
-
Mix those fonts up on your titles and sentiments
-
Always always have fun!
Thanks for joining me today! See you next week with another collection of projects featuring our August Hip Kits! Have a great weekend! xo~MK
