Hi! My name is Ashley Horton and I live in the Southern US with my husband Tyler and our three children. I started scrapbooking about 8 years ago, and have been in love with it ever since. Scrapbooking has always been a fun creative outlet for me and I also set goals that I wanted to achieve, and have been very fortunate in recent years to be published in several paper and online magazines and have designed for a variety of Blogs and Manufacturers. I am currently designing for American Crafts, Chic Tags, Silhouette, Echo Park, Creative Scrappers, and Get It Scrapped! I like to have fun when I am creating and enjoy telling the stories of our family on my layouts. Even though Scrapbooking takes up the majority of my free time, I also enjoy cooking, reading, and watching movies!

JANUARY 2014 HIP KIT & ADD-ON KIT PROJECTS created by Ashley HortonI love to look through my Pinterest feed for inspiration, and I’ve come across the ABC I <3 U canvas many times. I thought it would be a fun idea to translate the same look onto a layout. I started this page by placing my photos in the area that I wanted them on the layout. After they were in place, I started placing the Cherish Thickers to form the look of the canvas on my layout. When my basic elements were in pace, I embellished with the Freckled Fawn and Studio Calico wood veneers. And I added some of the Studio Calico cork chevron pieces and one of the arrows, to add movement to my page. I also cut a large heart shape on my Cameo, and then traced it onto my layout, to stitch the heart around my photos and ABC “canvas”.Looking for card making supplies? Browse our monthly kits - each one includes coordinated papers, stamps, and embellishments perfect for handmade cards. I wanted to use a bold background paper for my card base, so I chose the Floral pattern from the Studio Calico Printshop collection. I cut the paper to fit on the White cardstock base, from the cardstock included in the Kit. Since I used a busier background paper, I went with a more neutral look for my embellishments on the card. I used one of the Standouts from the Crate Paper Love Notes collection, to add dimension to my card, and a small bit of twine for extra texture. |
