June 2013 Hip Kit… Two awesome layouts by Cindy Stevens…

Happy Sunday!

Today I am sharing a couple of fabulous layouts by Cindy Stevens using our June 2013 Hip Kit.  I love the transparent embellishments in our June main kit.  The Mint Julep Die Cuts & Transparencies and the Pier Washi Paper are really versatile embellishments.  Sometimes you just need something subtle to fill in a bare spot on your project.  Both transparencies and washi tape/paper are perfect for this.  Check out how Cindy incorporated these items into her pages.  You are going to love what she did!

The Mint Julep Die Cuts & Transparencies have so many wonderful bits and pieces.  There are cardstock die cuts along with lots of transparent shapes.  Notice the cute little green tab with the pink heart.  It fills in a bare spot, adds a rounded edge into the cluster with all sharp corners.  Being able to see through it adds a little extra interest.

Love the machine stitching, mist splatters and handwritten details.  These little things make your projects more interesting.

Cindy layered strips of the Pier Washi Paper onto white cardstock, and then punched large circles out of it using a circle punch.  Putting cardstock behind the washi paper gives it more weight.   If you try to punch shapes out of the washi paper alone, it will just tear and get stuck in your punch.  I love the splash of color that these circles add to her page.  Again the round edges break up those hard lines.  Notice how she used smaller punched circles as the O’s in her title.  Very clever!

Thanks so much for visiting today!  I am hope that you have learned a few new ways use some of the products in your June Hip Kit.  Make sure to check back tomorrow to see the next collection of fabulous projects created with our July Hip Kit!  Have a scrappy day!  xo – Kimberly –
