February 2013 Hip Kit… A beautiful

Happy Friday!

Weekend is finally here!  Yippee!!!  I don’t know about you – but I am hoping to find time to scrap this weekend.  I am so inspired by the wonderful projects that our talented design team members have created with our February Hip Kit – that I can’t wait to sit down and make a few projects myself.  :D  Today, I have another fabulous layout by Melanie Blackburn created with our February kit to share with you.

Melanie’s designs have such wonderful layering and detail.  There are so many things to take in when you see her layouts.  I love how she cut windows in some of the chevron arrows – this little detail adds such nice texture to her page.  The Color Me Happy Die Cuts include a few large note cards (5×7).  The colors and patterns are quite bold.  Melanie down down portions of a couple of these note cards and layered them under her photo.  This is a great way to add a POP of color and pattern without having it become the focus of your page.I love how Mel used the Elle’s Studio stamp set from our January Project Life Add-On Kit on her page.  She stamped each image twice creating an imperfect look.  These images help guide the eye throughout her layout.  That one set of stamps is a great staple to have on hand – and can be used over and over again on practically any card, layout or Project Life page.
