Vellum and little glassine bags are a really popular trend right now. On this layout I tucked a glassine bag behind one of the photos on my page. I used this pocket to add a few extra pictures to my layout. I also machine stitched an Amy Tangerine journaling card with a “pull here” tab to one of the extra photos.
I added a little bit of “woodgrain” washi tape (from my stash) to my layout – because I thought it needed just a little bit of contrast. Washi tape is one of those great products that goes an extremely long way. A few different styles of washi tape are one of those must-haves. 😀 When I was adding the title to my page – the pattern on the Amy Tangerine Thickers was just too subtle. So, I painted them with aqua blue craft paint… but they ended sticking out like a sore thumb. So, I decided that black alphabet would be the best choice. I used the Midnight Black October Afternoon Sprinkler Mist (from our October 2012 Embellishment Add-On Kit) to color them. Since the alphabet were already adhered to my page, I used a paint brush to apply the mist to them.
I am really happy with the way they turned out. 😀 I made this cute Valentines card using the Seen & Noted Phrase Cards from our Embellishment Add-On Kit. By adding “Valentine” with the October Afternoon Mini Market Alphabet – I turned the generic “Hello There” pennant banner into a cute Valentine’s Day card. The grey chevron background paper, was the reverse side of one of the pages from the pad of Phrase Cards. Looking for card making supplies? Some machine stitching, a button and a little baker’s twine were perfect finishing touches for this sweet card.
I hope my projects have inspired you to try something new – like adding a bag or a pocket to one of your layouts or cards. it is great way to store something special (journaling, extra photos or a gift card). Thanks so much for stopping by today. Make sure to visit again tomorrow to see a new collection of projects created with our January 2012 Hip Kit. – xo – Kimberly
