November 2012 Hip Kit… Holiday cards by Kimberly Hutchison…

Happy December 19th!!!

I can’t believe that Christmas is only 6 days away!  As much as I love the holiday itself…  I love the holiday season and all of the excitement and festiveness leading up to Christmas.  I don’t want these last days to pass too quickly…  because I am not done enjoying them.  Yesterday, I turned on Christmas music, and went into my craft room and made a few holiday cards with my November Hip Kit.  I hope they inspire you to put together a few cards for your loved ones this year.  Enjoy!!!

I

love the Sleigh Ride Masking Tape Stickers from our main kit.  They are great little accents for cards, scrapbook layouts and other projects.  The snow scene sticker – was the perfect for my card.  To give it a little sparkle, I splattered a little silver Mister Huey Mist (from our November Embellishment Add-On Kit) to the upper left and lower right corners of my card.  The splatters make me think of snowflakes.

I added a bit of machine stitching with silver thread.  The Sleigh Ride “Let It Snow” chipboard accent was the perfect sentiment for my card.  To finish it off I added a snowflake that I punched from vanilla cardstock, and one of the Enamel Dots (from our Embellishment Add-On Kit).  I love this card!!!

I

used a couple more Masking Tape Stickers on this card.  There are so many designs to choose from on that one sheet.  I cut the tag from the Sleigh Ride Tag Cuts paper.  I love the bright cheery colors on this tag.  The tag gives a nice “POP” of color to my card.  I added two snowflakes that I punched from vanilla cardstock, a couple of Enamel Dots, some machine stitching, and a silver ribbon (from my stash) to finish it off.  A snowflake punch is a great tool to have on hand for your winter and holiday projects.  I use mine a lot.

I hope my cards have put you in the holiday spirit… and got you thinking about making a handmade card for someone that you love.  Thanks for visiting today.  Make sure to stop by again tomorrow to see more projects created with our amazing November Hip Kit.  xo Kimberly
