August 2012 Hip Kit… A great Disneyland layout by Kristin Kingrey…

Hi Everyone!

It is Kristin here with you today and I have a fun layout to share with you that I created with our inspiring August Hip Kit.  I’ve had my Disneyland and Legoland pictures from this past July bouncing around in my head.  My good friend Amy, who also went to Disneyland and Legoland in July, has been begging me to use one of our Hip Kits to create a few layouts using my vacation photos so that she could copy my layouts using her Hip Kit. So… here you go Amy!!!

The last Disney layouts I did were your traditional Disney layouts using Mickey Black, Yellow and Red with all the traditional Disney embellishments.  This time around I jumped in and used the products in our August Hip Kit.  I didn’t scrap every photo from our vacation – which is something different for me.  Instead, I incorporated a few individual photo sleeves so that I could include all of my photos in my album.

I created a two page layout so that I could incorporate a lot of photos.  A great way to do this is to use wallet size photos along with a couple of standard size photos.  I managed to get 15 pictures my page. (One 4×6, two 4×3’s and 12 2×3’s).  The aqua paper, ribbon and letters and the red embellishments coordinated perfectly with my pictures.  Lightning McQueen is red and a lot of the signage and window trim in Cars Land were aqua.

I printed out all of my pictures separately, however, in rethinking it, I would have probably had an easier time if I had I printed them in a collage.  You can’t tell it from here, but I popped up one picture on each page. You can see them better from the detail pictures below.

It just adds a slight dimension to the cluster of photos.  Instead of using pop dots to lift the pictures, I used some of the scraps from the Woodland Park chipboard. Instead of throwing away the leftovers, I have been using them for popping things off of my pages.cars land pg 2_1The Amy Tangerine Sketchbook Delights (Accordion Flower) had a center that said Hello.  I took that off and added one of the Flair Buttons from our August Embellishment Add-On Kit.  This was a better match for my page.  The washi tape was from an earlier kit and worked perfectly with the products in our August Hip Kit.  Also if you look closely at the photo with the fire truck, you will notice that it is the other photo that I popped up.

I hope that this layout inspires you to think outside the box when you scrap your themed pages.  You don’t need themed products to create a perfect layout.  Our Hip Kits will give you exactly what you need to scrap layouts for every theme and occasion.

Thanks so much for visiting today.  Come back tomorrow to see our October Hip Kit debut.   You definitely won’t want to miss it.  Have a great Sunday!!!  xo Kristin
