LET’S GET MESSY WITH MIXED MEDIA – ANKE KRAMER – AUGUST 2023 HIP KITS

Hello Hip Kit friends, Anke here with a new layout inspiration for Hip Kit Club, featuring the August 2023 Hip Kits.

I created a  mixed media layout using one of the “Distress Oxide” ink pads and one of the stencils, which are included in the August Color Kit.

I used the ink blending technique to create the background of my layout. I chose the “Lemon Vine” stencil and the “Distress Oxide Squeezed Lemonade” ink pad, both included in the August Color Kit and the “Catherine Pooler – Garden Party – Mini Ink Pad from a previous kit.

I started with the leaves. Therefore I glued Washi Tape on the stencil to cover the lemons to make sure they wouldn’t be also colored in green accidentally .Then I applied the green ink using a blending brush.

I peeled off the Washi Tape and glued new tape on the leaves and stems. I didn’t cover all leaves so I could still see where to place the stencil. Then I applied the  “Squeezed Lemonade” Oxide Ink on the lemons. Then I took my scissors and cut out the leaves and the lemons.

I fussy cut two rows of lemons from the “Hip Kit Club Exclusive – Sunshine & Lemonade – Oh Hello There” paper. And I also cut out the “Honeycomb Texture” two times from the “Essential Solids – Lime Zest Cardstock”, which is included in the August Cardstock Kit. I place the lemon branches on my layout, add one of the papers which are included in the August Pocket Life Kit, the fussy cut lemons and the Honeycomb Texture die cuts.

I cut out some leaves from white cardstock using the “October 2022 Lovely Leaves Metal Die Set” and colored them using the Catherine Pooler “Garden Party” and “Minted” ink pads from previous kits. Then I added them to my layout combined with some flowers and leaves which I fussy cut from the “Sunshine & Lemonade – Wildly Good”  paper and a round word die cut from the “Cardstock Ephemera” pack, which is included in the August Main Kit. For my title I chose one of the “Cardstock Layered Foam Phrase Stickers”, also included in the August Main Kit.

I layered my photo with a Pocket Life Card and added a chipboard die cut and some fussy cut leaves and flowers. The chipboard die cuts are also included in the August Main Kit.

I continued embellishing the layout with another word die cut, some puffy stickers and one of the “Debased Faux Wax Seal Stickers”, both included in the August Embellishment Kit and another chipboard die cut.

Then I chose some of the vellum stickers, which you can also find in the August Embellishment Kit, glue them on white cardstock  , cut them out and adhered them with foam pads.

Finally I added some of the “Multi Color Adhesive Pearls”, which are included in the August Main Kit and some Nuvo Drops from my stash.

This is my finished layout. I hope you like it and feel inspired to try a mixed media technique on one of your next projects.
