Hi friends. It’s almost Mother’s Day in the USA so this week we are celebrating mums everywhere! I have used the beautiful April Main Kit to create my pretty layout.
To begin with, I used the packaging technique to lay down some colour onto the white cardstock. I applied Shimmerz Sweet Heart from the March Color Kit to some cellophane packaging which I then used to apply to the background. You can control the amount of colour and direction by adding more colour loosely with a medium round paint brush. Use a loose tapping motion to build up ‘splodges’ of colour.
Next, I fussy-cut the Wild Flower (Maggie Holmes – Garden Party). The little flower clusters are so pretty. I also cut out the tickets from Garden Stroll paper (Maggie Holmes – Garden Party). To assemble the main cluster, I layered the tickets vertically and overlayed the fussy cut flower clusters.
I tucked in the sweet Bunnies & Blooms chipboard pieces and Garden Party phrase thickers.
To create the banner across the top of the page, I used a template shape to hand cut the Gingham Grove paper . I then sewed the edge of the paper for a little texture, before adding a button to make a ‘faux’ closure. I couldn’t resist adding the cute little chipboard bird and elements to this corner.
I am so proud of my daughter every day so the title came together using the different alphas from April’s Main Kit and the exclusive alphas from the March Main Kit. I love the little puffy Garden Party stickers which add a lovely pretty element to my title.
I do hope I have inspired you to make a pretty Mother’s Day layout. Thanks so much for stopping by. Don’t forget there is still time to enter the National Scrapbook Day challenges over on our Facebook Group.
