Hello Hip Kit Friends !

 

It’s Sophie on the blog and I am sharing my layout inspired by the lovely April moodboard designed by the talented Emilie Chamel !

I was driven by the lower right photo of the mood board, as well as the beautiful flowers and pink color palette. My assignment for this week was to incorporate triangles on my page.  Well, that was clearly the starting point of my design ! 

 

Everything from this layout comes from the beautiful February 2021 kits.

 

Here is what I had in mind:

 

 

I selected a few patterned papers and cut triangles out of white cardstock to guide me with my design. I decided to use the beautiful HKC Exclusive Heartfelt – Love Connection Paper (Paper kit) as my base. I cut a triangle out of this paper and did a chain stitch with yellow embroidery floss around it.

 

 

Then, I sticked and acetate paper and the HKC Exclusive Heartfelt – Say it with Flowers Paper to create a shaker pocket as shown here.

 

 

I cut different triangles out of different other patterned papers and did a chain stitch on them with matching embroidery floss.

 

 

I also cut my photo in a triangular shape. 

 

I placed everything in a vertical design, and popped all the triangles and my photo with adhesive foam. 

 

Then, I embellished each triangle with different decorative elements from the February Main kit, Embellishment kit and Pocket life kit. 

 

 

I used the different Pinkfresh Studio alpha stickers for my title, and a beautiful HKC Exclusive Heartfelt – Die Cut Tag (Embellishment kit) to write down my journaling.

 

 

I love this different design. Creating triangular shapes, including for my photo, was out of my comfort zone, but what a great way to get a newer and different look !
