Hi friends! Welcome on the blog!
Today, I am sharing with you a scrapbooking mini album created with my January 2020 Hip Kit Club kits.
The title of the mini is Mixed & Matched because it contains ‘left-over’ photos from previous projects and photos not well printed. I don’t like throwing photos so I gathered them to give them a second chance.
The mini album is 6 x 4,50 inches and the cover is made out of a withe Bazzil card-stock. The cover is decorated with many layers of elements. I first used a wash of pink Magical from the Color kit and then the stencil with dimensional paste on top.
The binding of the mini consists of seven strings that hold in place the pages. Each string can contain from one to four pages.
On the spine of the mini I enjoyed playing with colored threads, trying to weaving. It was an attempt, it is not perfect but I like how it turned out.
For the closure is just a string wrapped around the mini and embellished with a tassel made out of the same thread of the spine.
The pages are the patterned papers from the Main kit, mainly from Pinkfresh Studio. They are sixteen in total and some of them are interactive.
Since the photos are different one from another, the mini doesn’t really have a theme. They have in common that are mainly printed black and white and that are all of me and my family.
Here is a close-up of the flower I created taking advantage of the stitching of the photo in the previous page. Isn’t it fun? 🙂
To give interesting to the album, I varied the dimension of the pages, and the peeking effect of the patterns is so beautiful.
For the dates of the photos, I created some tags using Hip Kit Club Exclusives stamps from November kit. I fussy cut them and printed the date with a date stamp I have in my stash.
This is one of the page of the mini that I prefer. I used a 3 x 4 inch pocket life card on top of the black and white Pinkfresh Studio paper and adhered the puffy sticker word Cute. On the photo, I aligned three hearts and stitched them in place with my sewing machine.
An example of a tiny decoration. The banner is from Pinkfresh Studio die-cuts and the star is from the December Documented kit.
With the remaining white Bazzil of the cover, I created a tag. It was meant to contain the journaling but I changed idea and decided to use it as a decoration, with a piece of backer’s twine wrapped around,
Below are a couple of fun decorating idea using Pinfresh Studio chipboard circles. Here, I punched a hole directly on the photo, stitched around it and place in the middle the chipboard.
In this page, I used the circle as a charm. I punched a tiny hole in the circle and hanged it to the photo with a pin.
Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed the project and feel inspired to create with Hip Kit Club kits.
Love, NG <3
