Hi everyone, welcome back to the HipKit Blog, i am Jana and i have a new mixed media and moodboard inspired layout for you. I am working with the awesome January 2020 Kits and i really love them!

This is the Moodboard for february, created by Amanda!

And this is my layout, inspired by the image with the brush and the color pink! totally love how the page turned out

I decided to work with a real brush on my layout. The brush is 2″ and i started with painting a big stroke of the gorgeous “Plumeria Pink” Magical Powder on the gessoed white cardstock. I also added tons of splatter.
Then i worked on the brush, this took me some time. but i love the outcome!

I covered the brush with super heavy gesso and to get some more interesting texture i decided to add some crackle paste on top. Once both layers were completely dry i worked on the “used” look from the brush. I grabbed the “Silent Night Silver” Powder from the Color Kit and started to alter the brush.

I totally love how it looks, but to give them brush the perfect final used look i dipped the brush-hair into some colored gesso. I splattered some of the same mix around the brush and let it dry for a few hours.

The picture shows me with my new glasses and i totally like them!
It was a long way but finally…
i did some fussy cutting on PinkfreshStudio paper and cut off the big white border around some of the DieCuts. I layered everything very close around the brush…

Placed my title and journaling underneath the picture and finished this project with some enamel dots and the black & whte striped boarder! I had so much fun creating it and i really hope that you´re inspired to use the moodboard.
