Cut file sweetness layout | Sophie Delorme

Hello Hip Kit friends !

Sophie back with you sharing a layout using one of the amazing cut files from January !

I used the January Hip Kits for this page.  The cut file is called “You make me happy” and is designed by Kim Watson. I cut my title in white and did 2 offset cut in velum and with the Bazzill Lemonade Cadrstock from the Cardstock kit. Sorry for the poor quality photo here…

I Also copied and paste the flowers around the cut file and changed their size on my cutting machine to use them as embellishments on my page.

I kept the inner little pieces of the flower petals  and painted them with two of the Lindy’s Stamp gang Shimmering Powder Watercolors called Silent Night Silver (January color kit) and Andrea’s Azalea (December color kit). The green color comes from a distress oxide ink from my stash, as the green color in the January kit was a little bit too much on the yellow side for my color scheme.

I arranged most of my layout on the right side of the page, leaving white space on the left for my title and flowers.  I teared the beautiful rainbow paper from Pinkfresh Studio called Joyful Heart and used the back side of it on my page. I put a stripe of the “Be Right Back” patterned paper from Pinkfresh studio on the right and  I punched 2 scalloped borders out of white cardstock to layer between the 2 patterned paper. I machine stitched on the white borders as shown here.

I did a cluster of embellishments on the bottom left of my photos using one of the  Pinkfresh Studio Sticker Pockets & Tags (Pocket Life kit). I created a yellow tag out of Cardstock, fussy cut a cell phone image out of the “Be Right Back” patterned paper and sticked a Pink Paislee heart on it. I LOVE that cute addition to my page !

I backed my photos with foam tape and added pops of black with a Pocket Life card, a few fussy cut flowers from the Bloom and Grow patterned paper and some Pinkfresh Studio – My Favorite Story-  Ephemeras from the main kit.

I love the end result ! Here are the close-ups. You will see that the little flower petals curled a little bit because of the coat of colors. I left them like that on purpose, as it gives dimension and even more interest to my page.

I hope you will feel inspired by this layout ! Go ahead, and modify those cut files to suit your design !

Thank you for stopping by ! Happy crafting !

Sophie xx
