Simple Mixed Media with Jen Schow

Hey friends! Jen Schow here to share a simple mixed media layout with you using the November and December Documented 2019 Hip Kits!

I started with a light blue cardstock from the November Cardstock Kit and added a little bit of tone-on-tone ink through the snowflake stencil found in the December Documented Kit.

It’s super subtle, but you can see it a bit better in real life! I took some of the snowflakes from the exclusive watercolor shapes that were included in the November Color Kit, and added that gorgeous Nuvo Glitter Gel (from the December Documented Color Kit) in a few layers. So blingy and pretty!

Next, I took a few watercolor trees and added some of the Lindy’s Starburst Squirts, again from the DD Color Kit.

I layered a few journaling cards behind my photo and added my title using stickers from the November Main Kit as well as the “Family” word from the December Documented Kit. After I added them, I felt like my layout needed some snow, so I added a bit of white paint around my layers and on my trees.

I also added in some little white dots with the white acrylic paint. A few little chipboard stickers and I was done!

The thing I love about the mixed media on this layout, is that it’s not too intimidating. Do you agree?

Thanks so much for stopping and spending some time with me today!
