Hello Everyone! Martina here today with a snowy and fun layout using some of my leftovers of the wonderful Hip Kit Club December Documented Kit.
I went through some of my childhood pictures lately and found this perfect swiss winter pic of me 🙂 – I thought, why not put this on a layout. And did.
To start with my process, I arranged everything I was planning to use.
Papers, Journaling Cards and Embellishment were left from my December Documented Kit, the December Color Kit, some Shimmerz paints that matched my color palette and – of course – some snowflakes cut using the HKC 12 Days of Giving Cutfile Day 8.
Since I planned to get some color onto that paper, I applied a thin layer of Gesso in the area I was focusing on.
For my first coloured layer, I sprayed some “well blue me down” Coloringz on the Gesso
and spread it out. I wasn’t aiming for a even result, so streaky and messy was totally ok with me.
For the next layer, I added some shimmering snowflakes using the Stencil and Dazzlers that came with the HKC 2018 December Color Kit.
To include some more colors of the picture, I added some Shimmers and Inklingz with the packaging technique.
I matted my picture with some of the Journaling Cards and pieces of Patterned Paper. To make it stand out more, & added some fun foam on the back of my pile of papers before glueing it on the layout for dimension.
Sometimes it takes more than a minute to decide on where the title, the journaling spot and all the embellishments should go. That’s why I keep them on their backing film, so I can shift them freely around until I like the arrangement.
The Pinkfresh Studio Enamel Dots were the perfect finishing touches, all I had to do was add a bit of journaling. As far as I remember, this was racing day at ski school and we had a “big after party” in the evening, where I first discovered the chicken Dance (which we actually danced the whole evening…)
That’s it for today.
Let me know what you’re doing with your “older” Kits! Are you keeping them in the storage? Are you stash-busting them? I’m looking forward to read about your strategies!
Thank you so much for stopping by!
