Hey HKC fans, it’s Elsie back today and I’ve got two cards to share with you for today’s ‘Off The Page’ post using the September 2017 kits.

Without a doubt Fall is my favourite season, and one of my favourite things to do in Fall is to get cosy on the couch with a cuppa, which is what inspired this first card!

I started off by backing some of the exclusive cut files designed by the fabulous Jessica (found here) with some pink and red papers from Turn The Page. I also cut a circle into a 6×6″ piece of cardstock to create a window, and I made sure this was the same width as the wreath cut file.

Creating a shaker pocket was so easy with the Turn The Page sequins we got in the Project Life kit. I used all three types and mixed in some clear/white sequins from my stash.

To create a window I used some clear acetate. If you don’t have any acetate, you could create the same effect with a bit of clear plastic packaging.

Nestling in these fussy-cut tea cups around the wreath adds so extra pops of colour, cuteness and whimsy!

I divided my sentiment into two parts. I firstly used the HKC exclusive gold chipboard alpha to spell out the word ‘cuppa?’ and then I used the speech bubble from the Turn The Page journalling die cut pack to glue the first part of my sentiment on: ‘do you fancy a…’.

We get even more rain than usual here in England during Autumn, and as I was making these cards it pouring with rain which is what inspired this next card!

I’ve made this card for a friend who hasn’t been well recently, and so I made sure I used her favourite combination of colours and embellished it with some adorable images like the puffy sticker snail!

To create my umbrella I used Paper 12 from Turn the Page. This is the perfect paper to create a little umbrella like this because of the small, scaled-down squares of patterns on its ‘A’ side.

I freehand cut the stormy looking clouds from paper 07, and I stitched round them and the umbrella in some co-ordinating thread. I love hand-stitching on cards, because it obviously takes a little extra time to do, and so it’s a nice way to let the recipients know that you’re thinking about them. I like to think you’re stitching a little bit of love into a card (I know, I know… that’s the cheesiest thing ever!).

I love the signpost sticker from the Turn The Page sticker book and I really wanted to use it, but the sentiment on it didn’t match this card’s theme. To fix this I typed what I would like it say and cut it into strips and glued it to the sign. This is such a quick and easy way to personalise your embellishments to make them work for you.
