5 Tips with Alphas / Felicity Wilson

may mini6

Hello lovely people! Felicity here today with a super cute mini album using the May kit!

This turn out way better than I thought it would.

My little challenge was to ‘be clever with alphas’.

Here’s 5 tips on ways to use alphas in a different kind of way.

Tip 1 : Put the Alphas down on your project and trace around them. Then remove the alphas and hand stitch the word. Its so effective and fun. Adds a ton of texture in a subtle way too.

Tip 2: Try and put your alphas down in a shaped way. Use an embellishment as a guide, just as I have done here with the word Fun. Its curved around the top of the tag. Adds lots of fun and interest to your project.

Tip 3: Why not try and change the direction of your alphas? I always, 95% of the time, put my title horizontal. This time I went vertical with the word ‘magic’. Doesn’t it look effective?

Tip 4:  Mix it up. This is something I don’t do enough. I tend to stick to the same alpha, but look at how fun it looks with the thickers and the stickers from the shimelle book in the project life kit. Its also a great way to add a longer sentiment or title.

Tip 5: Dont be afraid to chop up the thickers. If there is a longer title or just part of it you like, dont be scared to chop it up and make it fit your project. Like what I did with dreaming of... which mind you, are the exclusive puffy stickers in the kit.

Oh I love the script on ‘dreaming of

‘

Hope this inspires you today, to be a little more creative with alphas.

Before you go, I’ll leave you a bonus page – a Project Life spread and process video.
