Work and Play | AMY CHALLIS

Hi everyone, Amy here with two pages I created using the June Project Life and Embellishment kits. This month’s kits were full of so many of my favourite items (wood veneer shapes, enamel dots, words and letters galore!) that this layout practically put itself together! Don’t you just love it when that happens?

This week I decided to document my current work/home situation. Since I quit my day job, I’ve been able to spend much more time working from home on my Etsy store and on creative projects. My day-to-day life has changed so much from three months ago – the photos probably don’t look like much, but it means so much to me that I get to stay home and follow my passions! It’s been a bit of a slow month, picture-wise, as I’ve been so busy and I keep forgetting to pick up the camera! But I did manage to find a mixture of photographs, some from my camera and others from my Iphone. Did I take all of these photos in June? Well, no. But do they tell the story I wanted to tell? Absolutely – so who cares!

My layout is quite photo heavy this month, with 5/8 cards being photographs. I don’t always embellish my photographs but with fewer decorative cards and no journaling this week, I decided I would include lots of words and phrases to compensate. I decorated my pictures with  American Crafts Gold Foil Word Stickers,  Simple Stories Alphabet & Word Stickers and  Jillibean Soup Wood Veneer shapes. I absolutely love the wood veneer words and shapes this month! They add such a lovely texture and a natural element to any layout – and they match every colour scheme!

For the decorate/filler cards, I chose cards from the Project Life kit and started off with either a wood veneer word or a piece from the Project Life Currently Chipboard Ephemera. Next I used the alpha stickers to spell out phrases and finished off with tiny embellishments to create clusters. And voila, I was finished!
