Hooray for Hilarious Moments | Missy Whidden

Hey, friends!  Missy back with you, and I have another fun layout to share using the 2016 February Hip Kits!  I decided to go bright for this one, and I started with a few of the Project Life cards behind my photo.  My background paper is one of the Pink Paislee patterned papers, and I used white gesso on it first.  Next, I added some of the Shimmerz products from the Color Kit.  The Ride the Tide Creameez and Lemon Drop Dazzlerz came first, followed by some gelatos from my stash.  I also used a few stencils from past kits as well as the Pucker Up Pink Dazzlerz from the January Color Kit.  I also wanted a long title, so I pulled from three different Thicker packs and the Amy Tangerine Sticker Book from the Project Life Kit.

I LOVE these Shimelle Thickers from the Embellishment Kit!  Oh my gosh…the colors are so fun!  I mixed them with the black foam Thickers from the Main Kit, the blue circle Thickers from the PL Kit and the alphas from the Amy Tan Sticker Book.  I stitched through them, and I love how it turned out.

More delicious Dazzlerz here!  I added in lots of watercolor here with my water brush.  I layered in some of the Amy Tan paper, a Shimelle chipboard frame and some Pink Paislee cork hearts.  The gold specks in them are so pretty!

Another look at the title area here…those black foam Thickers are amazing!  I added black stitching around my photo layering area for more detail.  That cute arrow is from the Amy Tan Sticker Book.

One more close up of the top of the page…lots of layers, stickers and more stitching!  Isnt’ this photo so goofy?  My mom, sister and I always have to take silly selfies when we get together.  Such fun memories!

Here’s my process video if you’d like to check it out!  I hope you enjoy it!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

  1. When you see over the thickers are you using a regular needle in your machine? How does it not break?

  2. What size sewing needle & stitch size do you use when sewing thru alphas? I’ve tried but either needle breaks or stitches look kinda wonky!lol
