June 2012 Hip Kit… Cards & Layouts by Bethany Crowell…

Hi Everyone!

It is Bethany here with you today.  I know that our blog has been really quiet over the past few weeks.  I know that Kimberly was on vacation during the last week of July and has been busy getting our August Hip Kits ready now that she is home.  Things are getting back on track now…  So, today I want to share the rest of my June 2012 Hip Kit projects.  I have a couple of fun layouts and cards to help inspire you to pull out your June Hip Kit and get scrapping!

The Beginning of US LO

My favorite parts of this layout are the mini-polaroid frames that I cut from the Studio Calico patterned paper, that super fun Echo Park camera sticker and the Crate Paper tag.  These items are perfect for these pictures of my hubby and I from when we were dating.  The large picture isn’t the greatest quality…  but heck, not EVERY picture is perfect, right?   And since it’s one of the first photos of us together,  I wanted to include it on this “Chapter 1: The Beginning of Us”  layout no matter what.  😀

I also love the contrast of the banner on this primarily blue and green layout.  The banner is one of the strips from the Echo Park This & That Border paper.  I cut it out and machine stitched along the top of it to fasten it down.  Having the edges lifting up gives the layout a little extra texture and dimension.

This past year I started collecting vintage globes (my husband thinks it is a pretty random thing to collect… but I think they’re pretty cool!)  My sister snapped this photo of me during one of our spring vintage sale adventures.  I’m not usually a theme person when I scrapbook…  but this Studio Calico patterned paper was perfect for this layout!   Love the colors and map prints on this world patterned paper…

One thing about this layout (that I should probably apologize for!) is that the orange and white chevron print washi tape is NOT from our June Hip Kit.  It was sitting on my studio table and I grabbed it and stuck it on before I realized that ummm, no…  that’s not from the kit.  BUT I liked it so much that I couldn’t bear to remove it!  Just goes to show that our fabulous Hip Kits are so versatile and so on trend that they’re easy to mix and match with items from your own stash…  and I love that!

The Thickers in this kit are some of my favorite letter stickers.  LOVE the turquoise color of the foam ‘Wonder’ Thickers…  and the Amy Tangerine ‘GOODNESS’ Thickers?   Well that’s a perfect name for those, don’t you think?!  I inked the canvas camera with some Fresh Ink pigment ink from Impress Rubber Stamps…  this color matches the Wonder Thickers exactly!  (I think it’s ‘Pool’. One of my favorite summer colors, for sure…especially with that beautiful dandelion yellow.)

And because there’s so much goodness in this kit, I made a couple more quick and easy cards…

Note to Say Hello card

I used sentiment stamps from my stash on both of these cards, but all the other products can be found in the fantastic June Hip Kit and Embellishment Add-On Kit!

Life is Good card

Hope you’re having fun playing with your June Hip Kit…and if you haven’t had a chance dig into yours yet, I hope you’re inspired to get it out and play soon!

Happy Scrapping!
